Pelicans and raptors were matched up for their first of two total games this year.

February 5th in New Orleans, the Pelicans defended their home court taking down the Toronto Raptors 138-100. This dominant performance was powered by no other than the Pelicans two best threats this season, Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson. Ingram was the leader of the team last night putting up an astonishing 41 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds. Zion Williamson, despite not being the second leading scorer, commanded the paint and was able to hold his own against Bruce Brown Jr. and Jakob Poeltl.

This win puts the Pelicans at 7th in the west, and if they can advance one more spot they will have the advantage of not having to play in the NBA play-in tournament. This would be huge for the Pelicans because it would allow them to be directly matched up with 2 seed and not having to face the best team in the conference. This is a real possibility as well because we can see the Pelicans squad really starting to work together and they have even won their past three games and hope to continue this winning streak. It will be exciting to see if they continue to do well or fizzle out like past seasons.
