Sartell Sabres remain undefeated after a 3-2 victory over the Alexandria Cardinals

On Tuesday, December 5th, the Sartell Sabres took down the Alexandria Cardinals in a 3-2 victory.

With goals scored by Baylor Stebbins (12), Shaun Paulson (11), and Devin Jacobs (9), the Sabres move onto 3-0 going into their game against Fergus Falls on Thursday December 7th, @7:15.

The game started off with a slow start in the first period. Although there were no goals scored on either side all period, Sartell set the tone of the game with big hits from senior defenseman Wyatt Laidlaw, senior forward Gavin Welsh, and sophomore forward Brayden Klande.

Moving into the second period, the action picked up with a continuation of hits by senior defensemen Connor Anderson and Wyatt Laidlaw, followed up by an unassisted goal from Sabres captain, Baylor Stebbins with 7:35 left in the period to make it a 1-0 game.

Quickly followed after the goal by Stebbins, junior forward Shaun Paulson scored with 7:05 left in the period, assisted by junior Jake Volker, and freshman Devin Jacobs, making the score 2-0.

After an Alexandria goal, Sartell capitalized with a goal right off the draw with 2:11 left in the second period by freshman forward Devin Jacobs, assisted by junior forward Shaun Paulson, making the score 3-1.

The rest of the game was a period led by the Sabres defensemen and senior goalie, Noah Hacker. Hacker ended the game with 33 saves coming out to a save percentage of 94.3%. The Sabres won the game with a 3-2 victory over the Alexandria Cardinals, continuing their undefeated record moving to 3-0, leaving them in 1st place in the Central Lakes Conference.
