The color blue comes in many shades, tints, and hues.

The color blue. Everybody loves the beautiful hue that this color creates, especially in my eyes. Meanwhile, some people think they’re different for “not liking it.” The color blue truly attracts the attention of so many people, and for good reasons.

The origins of the color blue are very interesting. Ancient Egyptians were the first group of people to create the beautiful color around 2200 B.C. They usually used a specific shade of blue that is now known as the synthetic Egyptian blue. For the next 6,000 years, the color blue evolved all around the world. Certain pigments were used to make some of the most famous paintings of all time. Although the Ancient Egyptians created the color blue, the word ‘blue’ did not originate from them. The word comes from the two Middle English words, ‘bleu’ and ‘ blewe’. The word ‘bleu’ is of Germanic origin, which means it’s related to the Old High German word ‘blao’, meaning shimmering, lustrous.

Now that the origins of the color blue are known, why is it the most popular color in the world? It’s no mystery why this color is appealing to so many people. The vibrant hue can be eye-catching to say the least. The color blue is associated with so many different words and feelings. It’s said that blue can create a sense of trust, understanding, loyalty and confidence. It can also create feelings of tranquility, calmness, relaxation, and it can reduce stress. Some people associate colors with a certain personality. People with the blue personality are usually compassionate, imaginative, enthusiastic, sympathetic, and sincere. I like to think of myself as a blue person.
