The Capitol Building was the scene of a riot last Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

On January 4th, 2021 a group of what appeared to be Trump supporters who were protesting the results of the Presidential election were able to get past police and get into the Capitol Building.

Congress was voting on the electoral college when they were forced to evacuate because protestors had entered the capitol. Congress members were forced to lock themselves on the floor and block the door to stop protestor from getting in.

According to an NBC news article, four people died as well as over 50 arrests were made for violating the curfew. The DC National Guard was brought in to get the situation under control.

Vice President Pence and Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnel as well as many other members of Congres condemned the violence. Trump was criticized by four former Presidents.
