TGIFF (Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday) pt. 14, Reclamation Edition
IT’S BACCCKKKKK!!! That’s right readers, the beloved website favorite #Flannel Friday is back and better than ever! Nothing screams flannel weather like the picturesque images of bare trees, the scent of pumpkin spice filling the air, and the quiet tears of dreamers who wish upon a window scraper that the snow doesn’t come. Let’s take a look at this year’s first installment of Flannel Friday wearers.
First on our #FlannelFriday list is junior Nolan Wollum. Nolan owns six flannels. His favorite flannel is the red one pictured. To Nolan, he thinks it’s socially acceptable to wear a flannel when it’s chilly out. If his flannel were to say anything to him it’d say, “Wear me more.” When asked how genial his flannel is (not everyone I interviewed knew the meaning of the word genial), he responded with a reluctant 7 out of 10 then added, “Not overly genial… you know just a solid 7.” Overall, Nolan is a strong Flannel Friday supporter and can’t wait for future installments.
Our next Flannel Friday guru is senior Dylan Michaud. Dylan owns four to five flannels and his blue one is his favorite. If he were on a romantic date and he was to lay his flannel down in a puddle for anyone, he’d lay it down for himself. In Dylan’s opinion, Mr. Hoffman is the most likely teacher to wear a flannel on a daily basis. In response to the question On a scale of 1-10 how genial is your flannel? he responded, “…what does that mean?” After being told the definition, he confidently answered, “9 1/2 probably.” Dylan will continue to wear flannels frequently, especially on Fridays.
Up next is sophomore Lydia Anderson. Lydia is a spirited flannel lover who owns a whopping six flannels! If she were to lay her flannel down for anyone, she would lay it down for her best friend (That’s so sweet! You know who you are, Lydia’s best friend! I wish I had a best friend like that…). When asked which teacher is most likely to wear a flannel she responded, “Mr. Walker definitely.” When asked, On a scale of 1-10 how genial is your flannel? Lydia wearily eeked, “9?” After being told the definition, she exclaimed with a reassuring, “Oh yes, definitely a 10 then.” There is no doubt in my mind that Lydia is a flannel lover.
P.S. Lydia, your flannel is my favorite of the week! I love the fall color on you; work it!
Our next flannel Friday connoisseur is freshman Ethan Schroers. Ethan proudly owns five flannels; his red and black flannel is his favorite. After much deliberation and some hard thinking, Ethan thinks the socially acceptable time to wear a flannel is in the winter. If his flannel were to say anything to him it’d be, “Do your best.” (I’d like Ethan’s flannel; it’d make it easier to get through grueling five day weeks.) On a scale of 1 to 10 on how genial Ethan’s flannel is, he said a solid 11 after looking up the definition of the word. I can see why Ethan loves flannel Friday. His flannels give him the confidence to be and look his best!
Nearing the end of our #flannelfriday list is junior Holly Wolff. Holly owns six flannels and the flannel pictured is her favorite. Holly would lay her flannel down in a puddle for her dog. Her flannel would tell her to wear her less. Holly thinks the teacher that’s most likely to wear a flannel is a tie between Hoffman and Henning. When asked how genial her flannel is she responded with, “Who whata whata? Probably a 5.” There’s no doubt Holly loves Flannel Friday!
And last but certainly not least, we have senior Aidan Speckhard! When asked when the socially acceptable time to wear a flannel is he said, “All the time! Except at a funeral…” If Aidan were to lay his flannel down in a puddle for anyone, he’d lay it down for Nick Juntunen. After a long pause of trying to think of something funny to say when asked if his flannel could talk, he finally responded with, “You’re hot, but I make you hotter.” In Aidan’s opinion “Hoff-daddy (aka Mr. Hoffman)” is the most likely teacher to wear a flannel. When asked how genial his flannel is he said, “How what? What does that even mean? Ummm… At least a 3.7?”. After told the definition of the world genial, he confirmed his 3.7 in saying he has a pretty depressed flannel.
Well, the first week of the reclamation of Flannel Friday was a resounding success! Please keep wearing flannels on Fridays or all days to show your support for Flannel Friday and a chance to be featured in next week’s edition. Happy Flanneling Sabres! #FlannelFriday
