TGIFF (Thank Goodness It’s Flannel Friday) Pt. 3

Olivia Wheeler, Journalist

Week 3 of Flannel Friday took place on Friday, March 11th at SHS. The flannel spirit throughout the school was weak, but I still have faith in the high schoolers. With the weather getting warmer, many kids are losing the flannel thought. Regardless, there were still some sweet flannels. Let’s take a look.

The first person interviewed about #FlannelFriday was the freshman, Emily Scarff. When asked how Emily prefers to wear her flannels she answered with, “Like a shirt?” I then had her elaborate more on it and found out that she wears them unbuttoned. Emily owns so many flannels that she can’t even count how many she actually has. Her favorite color flannels to wear are blue, red, or blue with red in it. Emily wears flannels because she believes they are super cute and comfortable. When asked, on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Emily would describe her flannel, she replied with a strong and confident 10.

The next person interviewed was the freshman, Rachel Ditmarson. When asked how she prefers to wear her flannels she replied with, “Like on, definitely not around my waist.” Her favorite color flannel to wear is the one that she was wearing last Friday, which was her blue and white one. She also owns about four or five different flannels. She wears flannels just because she simply likes them. When asked, on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Rachel would describe her flannel, she replied with, “What do you mean by that?” After explaining, she had a confident answer of 10.

As the day went on, I interviewed senior and insane hockey player #31, Keenan Lund. Keenan sadly owns only one flannel, but I think it would be a good investment if he were to take a little trip over to Savers to snag a few more flannels. He prefers to wear his flannel buttoned up with only the very top button unbuttoned. Kennan has a very colorful personality, and that shows through his favorite flannel to wear, which is navy blue, orange, and red. Keenan does not usually wear flannels, but he does agree, it’s cool to wear flannels! When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Keenan would describe his flannel, he replied with a fragile 5.

The fourth person interviewed was a freshman, Avery Atkinson. Avery prefers to wear her flannel under her North Face bubble vest. She owns about 20 different flannels. She’s a very experienced flannel owner! Her favorite color flannel to wear is her red one, and she wears flannel mainly because of how comfortable they are. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Avery would describe her flannel, she replied with “a solid 9.5.”

The last person interviewed for week 3 of #FlannelFriday is a very important person. Myself! I am a senior at Sartell High School, and #FlannelFriday is my life. You can catch me in a flannel every Friday.  It is the best idea anyone has ever had, and I’m very proud of myself. I own five different flannels, but my favorite flannel to wear is my green one. Senior and D1 bound athlete, Clare Minnerath also loves when I wear my green flannel because, as those of you who played powderpuff last fall would know, one of my nicknames is Green. I will wear my flannel unbuttoned, buttoned, backward, tied around my head, as pants, but I will NEVER wear it tied around my waist. Mr. Schulte would be very proud of me. I wear flannels because of #FlannelFriday and because I think it’s a genius idea. If I were to be asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely my flannels are, I would definitely reply with a 9.85.
