Since December 2024, Ukrainian soldiers have been using remote-controlled vehicles to protect themselves from the Russian drones. These vehicles also deliver supplies, evacuate wounded soldiers, and clear obstacles on the dangerous terrain. Ukraine has faced many drone attacks on civilian cities and large infrastructure. Ukraine’s Air Force mentions that Russia launched 619 drones and missiles. The Russian defence ministry refers to this as their “massive strike” and used these to target military-industrial facilities.
Russia launched one of its biggest aerial attacks to date on Thursday, August 21, 2025, with 574 drones and 40 ballistic and cruise missiles. Driving on the front line has become one of the riskiest jobs on the battlefield, with the skies swarming with Russian drones.

The Ukrainian military uses these large remotely controlled vehicles to deliver supplies. These vehicles don’t get tired and can handle as much as they are capable of. Troops will load hundreds of pounds worth of supplies, such as ammunition, food, water, and fuel, before it is sent to a hidden area near the front line for soldiers.
