Season eight of Love is Blind came out to the public on Netflix exactly one week ago. This season in particular is filmed in Minneapolis. This experiment is not much of a joy that Minnesotans hoped for.
On the downside, two viewers wrote on Instagram that this season was “extremely boring” and that they are getting “second hand embarrassment.” On the positive side, one Minnesotan said that they felt like this season was wholesome and family friendly and liked how much respect the filming crew had for the women.
The season is filled with diversity both in race and ethnic beliefs. Nearly 23% of Minnesotans are people of color. In the U.S. that puts us in the middle of racial diversity between the 50 states. Among all the states, Minnesota has grown the fastest since 2010 with the black population. According to the Pew Research Center, Minnesota residents who are African American or black have raised up to 60% within the last ten years.
Throughout the many ups and downs regarding the public’s beliefs and this season overall, this season has blown up tremendously by the public. In the last 30 days, there was 20 times more of a demand to watch this show in the United States.
Coming up in the next couple of days, look out for episodes seven through nine where you will see many of their stories grow.
