Matthew loves spending time with his family and friends and being involved in various activities that keep him busy. He has one older brother who lives in the Twin Cities area and two younger siblings who attend Sartell Middle School. Matt also loves spending time outside in nature and being on the Mississippi River.

Matthew has been involved in many activities in the school district. He played baseball and basketball until 9th grade, and he was a star on defense for the Sabres football squad last year earning the nickname “Seatbelt Vos.” Matthew has also participated in Sartell’s track program since his sophomore year.

Last summer, Matthew spent a month in the Canadian wilderness as part of the Les Voyagers program which has an extensive history in central Minnesota. He reflects that this was an amazing experience where he grew in many aspects of his life.

Matthew is excited about his plans in the United States National Guard starting this July. He will complete basic training and then attend the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in January at the start of the spring semester. He is undecided on a major.
