Where are they now? Sartell alumni & hall of famer Adam Heathcote

Sartell alumni and community member, Adam Heathcote (class of 2000) shared what life was like while competing in sports for Sartell and then where it led him.

Adam played multiple sports in high school. He was a quarterback in football, ran track, played basketball, and baseball. He was the quarterback for his senior year when they went to state. Some of his stats were 1851 total offensive yards, 317 rushing yards, and 15 interceptions.

He graduated in 2000 and went to study at Macalister College; he continued to play football in college as well.

I started off doing pre-dental so like biology and chemistry, and it turns out college biology and chemistry are considerably harder than high school

— Adam Heathcote

While he was at school at Macalister, Adam thought the medical field was for him, but he soon switched tracks.  He started to study economics, and that is the degree he graduated with.

I wish I would have played basketball for four years, football was great, we were never very good but I definitely had a lot of fun in high school.

— Adam Heathcote

Adam Heathcote still lives in Sartell, the city he grew up in. Times have changed for Sartell, but he is still happy in the city he grew up in. He has two kids who attend school in the district, and he is glad that Sartell is still a great city to grow up in. He married his high school sweetheart and had two wonderful children. He is happy that his kids will grow up to become sabers. He believes that a saber is someone who will be a team player on the field or court and someone who is an outstanding person everywhere else.
