GOP Congressman from Texas ends campaign after affair
Van Taylor, the representative for Texas’ third district in the U.S. House of Representatives has announced he will end his campaign for reelection because of an extramarital affair. Taylor, a Republican from Texas, was elected to the House of Representatives in the 2018 midterm elections.
The Congressman had an affair with Tania Joya, whose husband was a known ISIS fighter that was killed in 2017.
They met through Joya’s work reprogramming extremists. After the affair ended, Taylor gave Joya five thousand dollars to keep the affair secret.
