Alexa spills the tea
Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant malfunctioned in Germany for a person trying to listen to their saved recordings. A customer had accidental access to another customer’s private recordings through a “human error” at the Amazon company.
The customer had access to 1,700 voice recordings from another customer’s Alexa voice assistant. This was able to happen when Amazon sent a link to the customer to access his or her own voice recordings. The files were immediately deleted from the link but the customer had already downloaded them.
The issue was resolved between both customers and Amazon is taking measure to make sure that this doesn’t happen again.
