Meet Sophie Heathcote! She is a Sartell senior who balances work with sports, friends, and family! Sophie said the best part about having a job is the feeling of being grown up and learning how to manage money! She has become better at saving money sense getting a job which is setting her up for success when college comes around the corner!

Sophie’s first job was at Blackberry Golf Course where she worked for four summers; she spent her time washing off carts. Sophie said her time working at Blackberry taught her how to manage time and the importance of a job at age 14. It taught her the responsibility it takes to clean down each cart. Sophie said her experience was extremely fun at such a young age because not many around her had jobs at the time, and it was fun to work with friends!

Sophie decided to pick up another job at Second Street Coffee House for around six months. At Second Street, she learned people skills working face to face with customers serving coffee! The difference between Second Street and Blackberry was vastly different, because she was actually involved working face to face. Second Street taught her how to stay professional through challenges. Coming out of Second Street, it has taught her to persevere and be a good worker!
Sophie’s favorite job so far and her current job is at Scheels! She has been working there for over a year and is enjoying every second of it! Working at Scheels, she has improved her customer service skills and has a team mentality! She has learned not only work skills but has created life time best friends and life skills she will take into her future. Scheels has taught her professionalism in a work place and increased her worth ethic! Sophie loves being employed at Scheels.
