If you have taken a scroll on social media in the last week, I am sure you have heard of the world famous Punch. Punch is a baby Macaque at the Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan. Punch was abandoned by his mother at a very early age.

The Ichikawa Zoo’s visitors have also sky rocketed due to Punch’s popularity. Because of the abandonment, he was given an orangutan stuffed animal by his caretakers. 

Punch’s fame spreads through all social media platforms. A clip of him being bullied by his family and then running to his plush toy from IKEA has racked up over 11 million views. Fans of Punch have also created many shorts of Punch hugging his stuffed animal. The #HangInTherePunch is also being used across the world.
