TGIFF (Thank goodness it’s Flannel Friday)
Week one of Flannel Friday at SHS was a success, as many Sartell students wore flannels. Every week on Friday’s, there will be five people, teachers and students, that will be randomly selected and interviewed about their flannels. Let’s get started:
The first person interviewed about his flannel was Mr. Schulte. Schulte would never wear his flannel around his waist; he states that even if he were walking through a desert and knew that he needed it for the freezing nights, he would still wear it around his shoulders. He also enjoys rolling his sleeves up twice to be able to show off his forearms, and he opens up the v-neck two or three times when wearing a statement t-shirt under the flannel, so that he could maybe rep his favorite band (Trampled by Turtles) or maybe even the anti-porn movement. His favorite flannel to wear is his white and green flannel. It’s a second generation flannel from his father. He prefers to wear synthetic, wool flannels rather than cotton flannels. When asked, on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Mr. Schulte would describe his flannel, he answered that he’s at a 9 for sure and a 10 on some days. Mr. Schulte owns about four flannels.
The next person interviewed was senior, Jonah Nebosis. Depending on his mood, Jonah wears his flannel buttoned up with about two or three unbuttoned so that he is able to show off his chest hair. Jonah owns about 20 to 25 flannels. He is quite experienced in the flannel-wearing area. He owns a light blue and green flannel, which he absolutely loves to wear. Jonah wears flannels because he believes that they are “stylish.” Plus it’s all he owns, so he doesn’t have a choice. He must wear flannels. When asked, on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Jonah would describe his flannel, he answered with “very sincere.” We can only assume that means a 10.
The next interviewee was junior, Holly Greer. Holly usually wears her flannels tied around her waist, which Mr. Schulte would not approve of. She owns about seven different flannels. Holly prefers to wear black and white flannels so that she can accent the flannel with a different colored shirt. She wears flannels because they are “cute and easy to just throw on.” When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Holly would describe her flannel, she answered that she’s at about a 4.
Chelsea Nies, a senior at SHS, was interviewed next. She usually wears her flannels unbuttoned, but on occasion, she will wear it buttoned. For example, last Friday was a special day because as we all saw, Chelsea wore her flannel buttoned. She owns three different flannels, but her favorite color flannel to wear is her red and black one. Chelsea wears flannels for one purpose only: they’re comfy. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Chelsea would describe her flannel, she answered with, “Uhhh, 10?”
The last interviewee for the first week on Flannel Friday was senior, Addye Rengel. Addye stated that she prefers to wear her flannels buttoned while buttoning up about three of them. Her favorite color flannel to wear is her red one, but she does own five flannels. Addye Rengel wears flannels because she feels like a lumberjack. She very much so enjoys feeling like a lumberjack. She describes it as her “favorite feeling.” Her dream job is actually becoming a lumberjack. When asked on a scale from 1 to 10 how sincerely Addye would describe her flannel, she replied with a strong 10.
The next Flannel Friday will take place on Friday, March 4th. Get your flannels ready, and get pumped for Friday.
