Popstar sensation Taylor Swift is facing backlash from the right-wing media, facing allegations of conspiring with both the NFL and the Democratic Party to assist President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election.
In the past few months, the public has been able to watch a steadily blooming relationship between international music sensation, Taylor Swift, and the Chiefs tight-end, Travis Kelce. Between the many camera shots of Taylor at Chiefs games, and the media taking a keen interest to Kelce and Swift, their relationship has been very public. Since then, Kelce has been receiving far more attention. According to the NFL, his jersey sales increasing by 400% since dating Swift. With his increasing popularity, Kelce has been able to participate in advertising campaigns, including one which promoted the Pfizer vaccine.
On January 21st, the Chiefs won their divisional round 27-24 against the Bills. Following their win, they will be playing the 49ers at the Super Bowl Sunday, February 11th. Their win sparked speculation within the right-wing media, who suggests that the game was rigged. Especially considering Taylor Swift’s public support for Biden, and Kelce’s collaborations promoting the Covid vaccine and LGBTQ supported Bud Light, theorists have decided that their relationship is a pawn of the democratic party.
“The Democrats’ Taylor Swift election interference psyop is happening in the open,” says Laura Loomer, a self-described Islamophobe in an interview with CNN. “It’s not a coincidence that current and former Biden admin officials are propping up Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. They are going to use Taylor Swift as the poster child for their pro-abortion GOTV Campaign.”
The article Inside Biden’s Anti-Trump Battle Plan (and Where Taylor Swift Fits In) published on January 29th by the New York Times, reports that Biden would appreciate Swiftie’s support on this years upcoming election. This led to the right-wing leaning even further into conspiracy. It is not uncommon for celebrities to utilize their platform to encourage their audience to participate in the presidential election. Especially Swift, who is typically outspoken about her political affiliations and views.
