Minnesota Wild look to turn things around as they hire new coach John Hynes

The Wild are 4-0 under new coach John Hynes.

On Monday the 27th, the Wild decided to move on from their current head coach, Dean Evason, and hire John Hynes. Dean Evason has been the head coach for 5 seasons now and had a pretty successful term with them going 147-77-27. Dean is a very hard-working and passionate coach but the Wild decided to move on from him because the start of the 2023-2024 season wasn’t the most impressive start he’s had, going 5-10-4.

The Wild came to agreement on Monday the 27th with John Hynes. Hynes has coached two teams previous to the Wild. He coached the New Jersey Devils from 2015-2019. He brought them to the playoffs once in five seasons with a very depleted Devils team. Hynes was then hired by the Nashville Predators and coached there from 2020-2023. Nashville is a much better team, and he brought them to the playoffs three out of four years.

Hynes has gone 4-0 with the Minnesota Wild so far and has looked very impressive scoring 18 goals in four games and only allowing five goals. Previous to the hire, the Wild scored only seven goals in the last four games.

Tune in to tonight’s game to see if John Hynes can keep the Wild on their impressive winning streak
