The NHL Global Series, featuring four NHL teams, kicks off in Stockholm Sweden on Thursday November 16th, as a part of the 5 year traditional dating back to 2017. The Global Series wasn’t played in 2020 and 2021 due to the global pandemic.
The NHL kicks off their 5th annual Global Series this year from November 16th to November 19th. The Global Series wasn’t played in 2020 and 2021 due to the global pandemic. The four teams featured in this event are the Detroit Red Wings, the Minnesota Wild, the Ottawa Senators, and then the Toronto Maple leafs.
The first game is Thursday night, it is the Red Wings vs the Senators. Fridays game is the Maple Leafs vs the Red Wings. Saturdays game is the Wild vs the Senators, and concluding the series is the Wild vs Maple Leafs on Sunday. The Games are played in Avicii Arena in Stockholm Sweden.
The NHL Global Series is a great way for players to play around the world and for some players to play in front of their families that can’t travel to the United States. The 2023 series is different from others. Normally, two teams play but this year the NHL decided to send over four teams. 12 returning Swedes are playing in their home country this week.
