The news of the basketball offseason has been that star point guard Damian Lillard requested a trade.
At first it was expected he would take his talents with him to South Beach to form a super team with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. The TrailBlazers were demanding that in return for Lillard that they get either Adebayo or Butler to make deal go through, and the Miami front office thought that was too much.
Despite all of this, it would defer fans away from photoshopping Lillard into a Heat jersey. Now everything has changed with Lillard heading out too Milwaukee to join former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. Not only do the Bucks get Lillard but the Suns get some bench pieces and Jusuf Nurkic.
The other story of the offseason has been the moves the Suns have made after recently acquiring Kevin Duran who is a former MVP himself. This trade moves three all star caliber players and shakes up the league.
The Bucks and Suns are both frontrunners now to win the Larry OB at the end of the year. As for the Blazers the plan is to hit the reset button and build around their young backcourt duo of Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe with Ayton down low. They also plan to move Holiday similar to the way the Wizards did with Chris Paul earlier this offseason.
The trade goes as follows:
Bucks receive: Lillard (Blazerz)
Blazers receive: Jrue Holiday (Bucks), Deandre Ayton (Suns), Tounmani Camara (Bucks), 2029 first rd pick via MIL, and two pick swaps in 2028 and 2030 via MIL
Suns receive: Jusuf Nurkic (Blazers), Nassir Little (Blazers), Keon Johnson (Blazers), Grayson Allen (Bucks)
