Lebron James passes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the NBA’s all time leading scorer
On February 7, Lebron James made a late third quarter fadeaway to put himself into the number one spot on the all-time scoring list.
With 36 points to go before the game started, the elephant in the room was too big to ignore. Everyone knew James would surpass the record that night. Ticket sales even reached over $60,000 for just one seat.
After the shot happened the game was stopped to honor the moment. Lebron gave an emotional speech and shared the moment with friends and family. Kareem then gave the surpassing ball to James and the game was resumed.
