The NBA is on blast for a missed foul call on Lebron James which would later cost the game for the Los Angeles Lakers.

On January 28, 2023, the Los Angeles Lakers were in Boston against the Celtics in a very intense game. The score was tied at 105 and Lebron James had the ball with only seconds left. James drove to the basket and missed the game winning layup but was instantly furious that no foul was called.

After further review, it was blatant that James got fouled but the final seconds were not reviewed. The game went into overtime and the Lakers would later lose. James took to twitter where he expressed his feelings about the game.

“That one hurt BIG TIME!!! I don’t understand”, James tweeted after the game.

The event outraged hundreds over social media. The NBA later said that the refs did indeed miss the call and Lebron James should have been awarded two free throws. What made people so mad is that they did not review the controversial and game changing moment.

Patrick Beverely received a technical foul after bringing a camera on the court to show a referee the obvious foul. If a player is able to bring someone’s camera and show a referee the moment before overtime starts. The officials should be able to review the final seconds so no missed calls could have been made.

Furthermore, one of the officials has a family who are huge Celtics fans. Even more interesting, in games where Eric Lewis officiates the Celtics are 36-2. Hundreds believe he should be investigated.
