Tory Lanez is found guilty after shooting Megan Thee Stallion
On Friday, December 23 rapper Tory Lanez from Canada was found guilty of all charges in the shooting involving Megan Thee Stallion that happened in 2020. Lanez, 30, was charged with three felonies, including assault with a semiautomatic weapon, carrying a loaded, unregistered weapon in a moving vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
Megan testified that Lanez shot her in the foot after a party in Los Angeles. Lanez was also reported to have bribed Megan with 1 million dollars to keep quiet about the shooting.
Lanez is now facing 22 years in prison and deportation.
According to the prosecutors, the incident took place soon after both musicians left a party in July 2020 at Kylie Jenner’s house in the Hollywood Hills. The two were traveling in an SUV with Lanez’s bodyguard, Kelsey Harris, a former friend of Megan’s with whom she has since ended her friendship with.
According to the court, the two rappers got into a heated argument when Megan mocked Lanez’s rap abilities. Authorities claim that after Megan insisted on being allowed out of the vehicle, Lanez reportedly opened fire on her again.
