Protests in Tehran, Iran against modesty police for women’s rights

A young man in Iran died in the custody of Iranian police on November 30th, Hamed Salashoor’s body showed extreme signs of severe damage to the body. Although the police declared his death by heart attack, his cousins told the BBC about the issue after this report was made.

Hamed’s cousins told the BBC “His face was smashed. His nose, jaw and chin were broken. His torso from his neck to his navel, and over his kidneys, was stitched up.”

After these claims were made the Iranian police have not commented. There is no official report that has been released on why Hamed was detained in the first place.

A source close to the family of Hamed also told the BBC “A few hours before his arrest, Hamed received the good news that he had got a job at the ministry of oil”. Shortly after he had received the news Hamed called his mother to tell her the wonderful news. He then picked up some passengers while he was working as a taxi driver and after that he was stopped at a checkpoint then detained right away.
