Michigan is a beautiful place to visit anytime of the year, but during fall, with all the leaves, the view in Pictured Rocks was an experience that everyone should have a chance to visit.

Everyone knows Grand Marais, Michigan, but just a few miles southwest is a little town called Munising. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore offers 100 miles of trails along 42 miles of Lake Superior’s shore. Some trails even walk along the beach of Lake Superior.

Miners Beach to Mosquito beach is an 8 mile round trip. The water is a beautiful turquoise color when the sun hits it. There are beautiful rock layers and formations showing how much they have changed over the years.

Chapel Falls is a few miles out of Munising and right off the side of the road, only having to walk a few feet. (Megan Neid)

There are many waterfalls in Munising that are beautiful as well. Munising Falls is a small but very powerful waterfall. There are many different heights to see the falls from which involve a lot of steps but worth it.

Munising is a big tourist attraction. It has shops on every corner full of merchandise, like Pictured Rocks Cruises and The Gift Station.

One of these shops is a cute book store called Falling Rock Cafe & Bookstore, where you can get a cup of coffee and sit and read for hours. You can also get a cup with your name or your family’s name to use every time you come in to get coffee.

Munising Michigan is a great place to visit whenever you get the chance. With so many things to do and so many different things to see, make sure to check Munising out!
