Nong Bua Child Development Center is located in Thailand. This is where the tragedy happened.

On October 6th, in Thailand, 36 people were killed in a daycare by a former police officer, as stated in CNN.

The range of the children that got killed was between 2 and 5. Once police got a call, they immediately launched a manhunt for the attacker. They later found that the suspect was Panya Kamrab, a former police officer who was laid off this year because of drug possession charges.

Among his victims, they found out that Panya killed his wife and stepson. Investigators say he killed them before he killed himself. According to the local police chief, his 2-year-old stepson was enrolled in that daycare but wasn’t there when the attack occurred.

Payna went to the daycare for his stepson but didn’t find him, so he started shooting and stabbing people in the daycare. Panya managed to get into a room where 24 kids were sleeping and killed them one by one by using a knife to stab both children and staff at the daycare.

One of the eyewitnesses was a teacher, who described the scene as horrific to the media, explaining that the attacker entered the daycare while teachers were having lunch. All of a sudden, two staff were eating lunch when they heard a sound that sounded like firecrackers. The eye whiteness looked back and the two staff dropped to the ground.

The eyewitness said that he pulled out a gun from his waist and didn’t think he would also kill the kids. The teacher said that he was carrying around a second gun, as well as a knife, which he used to stab a teacher who was eight months pregnant.

Thai Royal Police said that Penya was due to receive a verdict in his ongoing case for alleged possession of methamphetamine on October 7th.
