Ted: Season 2: is it worth the hype?

Episode 5

IMDB Rating – 8.5/10

Personal Rating – 10/10

Thoughts: I thought that this episode was perfect. John and Ted had some great moments when trying out and being included in the play. Matty learns that they were going through some financial hardships, and to keep them afloat, he finds a job at the local Dunkin’ Donuts. After seeing that maybe it wasn’t quite enough money, Susan offers to help and get a job there too. This leads to some funny moments and maybe Matty being a bit over himself when not wanting to help certain customers. When Matty hears that Bill Clinton is coming to his Dunkin’ Donuts, he becomes extremely excited to finally get to yell at him for all the economic troubles that he’s been through. Things may not have gone the way that Matty wanted, but he tells people how he won yelling at Bill Clinton.

Episode 7

IMDB Rating – 8.6/10

Personal Rating – 9.5/10

Thoughts: This episode was amazing, after Susan gets pulled over she admits to having some illicit drugs in order to protect John. Matty and Blaire hate this idea and try to get John to confess, but for some reason Susan doesn’t budge, taking a 10 day sentence. Susan being in jail and just an innocent older lady is hilarious when she doesn’t realize that she is in trouble, she just tries to apologize and get around the issue trying to cause as little violence as possible. After a full week in jail, it seems like she has made things safer and when she finally gets out everyone inside seems like they will miss her. Back at the house it has been trashed and ruined, there’s a random bee hive near the door and trash everywhere. When it comes to doing laundry they end up accidentally dropping Ted in, leaving him extremely fluffed and looking pretty goofy. Overall, this was an incredible episode, with great moments in both stories.

Episode 8 –

IMDB Rating – 8.5/10

Personal Rating – 10/10

Thoughts: Matty has a heart attack after arguing with John, leading to him being told that he cannot get angry for the next few weeks. Matty is bedridden and the family is trying to make sure that he stays calm. Turning on the TV John learns that the OJ Simpson verdict is out, this leads to the family making a whole bogus newspaper, jamming the cable, hiring a random actor that was a mall cop to be multiple news anchors and the cable repair man, just to keep Matty from getting upset. I think that one of the best moments from this episode is when Matty sits at a bar trying to tell another person about a made up newspaper comic. Matty gets extremely defensive when asked if it was even real, and a short time after the family finds him. Everything gets explained to him about the fake newspaper and news show, and when he ends up back in the hospital he explains how impressed he actually was that John and Ted kept up with making a newspaper everyday for a week. Overall, this was a great ending to a great season.
