Aki is an extremely busy high school student. She works many jobs still including time to spend with friends, family, and balance school. Aki enjoys golfing, hanging with friends, yoga, and being outside.

Aki’s first job which she started her freshmen year was at Blackberry Ridge. She started in the cart shed cleaning carts and driving them. She worked the cart shed for two years and then just last year began working in the pro shop as well. Aki just recently got the job to also work the beverage cart this summer!

On top of working at the course she also helps teach little kids how to golf. She works alongside her own coach Scott Dirck. He runs a”Kids Golf Camp” during the summer. She plans to teach kids again this summer but at Blackerry’s annual kids camp.
Aki said she has learned a lot from all of her jobs. At Blackberry she has learned more basic skills like working with money. At KPower she has learned to form connection with members and be more of an outgoing person. She has gained many leadership skills as well. Through teaching golf to younger kids she has learned about time and patients!
Aki says the best part of having a job is being able to meet and surround herself with new people. Aki says all of her jobs are centered around meeting new people. Especially through KPower she has made many new friendships weather it be other instructors or people who take her classes weekly.
Aki just recently started this November as an instructor at KPower. Which she throughly enjoys!
I asked Aki what the most challenging part of having a job is. She said specifically for KPower waking up in the early morning sometimes even 5 am for her earlier classes she teaches can be hard. Aki said it is all worth it though.
