As the year continues at Sartell High School, freshman Willa Kruse shares her personal experiences and talks about her transition into high school in this week’s featured freshman!
Willa is enjoying her time here at Sartell High School. She says her favorite parts about high school so far are Sabre time and lunch.

Willa is 15 years old and has lived in Sartell for 13 years with her parents, David and Frida, her older brother Leo, and her older sister, Elise. Leo is a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Elise is a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her dad is a doctor, and her mom works at Scheels in the Crossroads Center mall. Willa says that she and her family like to hang out and spend time together.

When asked about her friends, Willa says that they enjoy hanging out at each other’s houses and sometimes going to Powder Ridge.

Willa participates in two sports in school: lacrosse and tennis. She joined lacrosse last year as an 8th grader and says her favorite part of lacrosse is playing and being with her teammates. This year was Willa’s first year playing tennis, and she says her favorite parts of tennis were the snack bag and the bus rides.

Q: What do you miss the most about middle school?
A: “Some of the teachers.”
Q: Who is your favorite teacher you’ve had so far this year?
A: “Box, I go to her Sabre Time.”
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: “Probably going on walks.”

A: “You” (Side note: I did not force her to say this)
