Sartell alumni, Kaitlyn Lysen, was a part of the graduating class of 2024. She was very involved in high school and continues to be involved at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is currently in her sophomore year and has been loving college life! As she reflects on her time at Sartell High School, she is grateful for the experience and memories made!
Kaitlyn is in her sophomore year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is majoring in kinesiology with a minor in global health. She hopes to open her own sports medicine clinic one day, which motivates her every day.
Kaitlyn loves the new life that she has created in Madison. She loves the freedom and being able to do whatever she wants every day. Specific to Madison, her favorite part of going there is that there is something to do every day, both week days and weekends. There are always fun pop-ups giving free stuff, different club meetings throughout the week, and other activities that help her meet new friends

and open doors to new opportunities. She is very happy with her college decision. Her dream school has always been Madison, and she can’t see herself anywhere else. If she wasn’t at Madison, she would likely be at the U of M (Twin Cities) still studying kinesiology, but wouldn’t trade what she currently has for the world!
Since starting a new chapter of her life, she has also picked up new hobbies. The big one is running. Growing up a swimmer Kaitlyn has always trained aerobically, so now she enjoys running. Right now she is training for the Madison half

marathon! Besides running and other forms of working out, she loves to cook. Her and her roommates look forward to trying new dinner recipes each day.
Kaitlyn’s love for Madison also holds many new memories. Although she still has more memories to make, so far her best memories are tailgates before football games or hanging out on frozen Lake Mendota!
Reminiscing on her time in high school, she misses her swim team most. Her best high school memories came from all of her swim meets her senior season. Kaitlyn was a very decorated swimmer; she was a state participate her senior year and also was an alternate one year. She had been on the varsity swim team since 7th grade and was a key part to the team. Kaitlyn contributed to have several undefeated seasons, section champs, and state appearances!
