The Sartell boys’ tennis team is starting their preparations for their upcoming season where they plan on continuing their success from last season.
Last season, the Sartell tennis team had a good year going 12-8. There are many ways to succeed and every year teams strive to find the way that works best for them. We will be recapping last year’s success, and provide an insight on what they are doing this year to keep the streak going.
A tennis senior graduate Isaiah Williams talked to us about the previous season. Isaiah has been playing tennis his whole life. He played tennis all four years of his high school career. We asked him a couple of questions about last season and here’s what he said.
How Williams thought last season went –
What was the team’s strong suit last year? –
There was good team chemistry throughout this group of guys. It led this team to the successful year they had. They hope that the bonds and habits that were made last year stay around and continue to lead this year’s team to success.
We asked him what preparations he has been making in the off-season to get better.
Steil also has multiple goals for himself. When asked about his goal for this season he said –
Michaud has set many goals for himself this year to make this season the best it can be.
A big game to attend is the matchup against the Alexandria Cardinals on April 17. This will be the boy’s first home game of the year and a big one. Alexandria has been a good competitor for Sartell for years. They are looking to take down the Cardinals at home and would love your support.
Another big game is senior night on May 2nd. The boys will be playing Brainerd who also has been another good competitor over the years. On senior night the team will be honoring the seniors who have paid their dues and earned their respect. The team would love to see lots of support for all of the seniors.
To have a good team you need good leaders and Coaches. The coaches this year are coach Forberg and coach Saue who have done a great job in the past years. The captains that have been chosen for this year are Jack Michaud, Dane Kenning, and Collin Otto. These three guys will lead the team to success and help to develop the young players.
