This alumni, Hudson Zabel is a 2024 Sartell High School graduate.
Hudson has been enjoying his first semester so far at the Minnesota State University of Mankato!
Q- Where did you end up going?
A- “Mankato.”
Q- Were you set on going anywhere other than where you decided on?
A- “I was considering Winona.”
Q- What are you majoring in?
A- “I am majoring in Nursing.”
Q- Are you happy with your decision?
A- “I am happy with my decision.”
Q- Have you made any new friends in college?
A- “I have made a couple of acquaintances but if anything I think it made me create better relationships with the people from back home who went on to Mankato.”
Q- What is your favorite class so far in college?
A- “My favorite class so far has been Human Development. I have been able to make friends with the people around me and I found the class environment to be welcoming and interactive.”
Q- Do you ever feel homesick in college?
A- “I do but I find Mankato to be just like St. Cloud which makes adjusting a lot more easy. I miss my family but being independent and hanging with friends has been fun!”
Q- What do you miss about high school?
A- “I miss knowing everyone and the structure of it. Being in college, especially off campus, it is a lot more lonely.”
Q- What do you miss about the city of Sartell?
A- “I miss the schools and my family that live there.”
Q- Do you miss anyone who still goes to school at Sartell?
A- “My younger sisters both go to school in Sartell and so does my girlfriend.”
Q- Do you keep in touch with anyone who just graduated along with you from Sartell?
A- “I keep in touch with people I was sorta friends with and occasionally hang with the ones who now go to school at Mankato and my best friends from Sartell I live with currently.”
Q- Who were your favorite teachers you had in high school?
A- “My favorite teachers were Saue, Sinkel, and Gohman who teaches Government and Econ.”
Q- What was your favorite class in high school?
A- “My favorite class was probably my Certified Nursing Assistant class due to how tight-knit everyone was and Mrs. Brink made it very fun and social.”
