She is always welcoming new friends into her classroom and gets to know you for who you are and loves to chat with anyone. She is married to her husband Dominick and they have three kids. Mckenzie is 16, Brogen is 7 and Brooks is 4. She is originally from Pequot Lakes, MN and went to school at UND.
Barten’s TOP song
Some of Barten’s favorite things!
Favorite color – I think I gravitate towards pink and purple
Favorite food – tacos
Favorite season – fall
Favorite holiday – Christmas
What do you and your family like to do together – We spend a lot of time outside when it is not freezing and just doing projects around the house, around the yard, and if we are inside we are finding a new movie or board games and card games, things like that.
What do you like to do with your free time away from your children – I am very much an old soul, and I love to quilt and sew and crochet and read when I have time.
The brains behind her job
Why did you choose to be a teacher? – I have told my mom since I was in 5th grade that I wanted to be a teacher and to go back, I’m not sure what it was, I was just drawn to it. I enjoyed school, I liked the learning aspect of school and the social aspect of it as well. I was very chatty in elementary school but very focused in during high school. I chose math, I think because of how my brain works and there was an answer and there was a way to work it forward and backwards to make sure you knew where you were going and what you are getting for an answer and I also wanted to work with kids and education was just a draw.
