Ever since I went to San Diego last spring break, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. From the welcoming citizens, to the beautiful views, I think San Diego should be the top of your travel bucket list. Read this article to find out why!
.・゜゜・The Views・゜゜・.
As someone who comes from flat land, boring Minnesota, the views of the beach and lush hills were out of this world. To be able to simply walk out of your house and look into the ocean is a life-long dream of mine. I want to be able to fall asleep to the sounds of the waves, tan on the beach whenever I want, and never have to dread the long-lasting blizzard weather we are so used to here in Minnesota. I went to San Diego during the spring, and the temperature was absolutely perfect. Mid 70’s and low 80’s is perfect for me. I’ve visited Arizona and the unbearable heat I experienced while I was there was too much for me. I like the feeling of the warm summer sun on my skin, while a cool breeze gently flows past me.

Who knew food could taste so delicious? Not me, at least not until I visited San Diego. From small taco shops built into the side of a wall, to a carousel spinning bar, San Diego had a wonderful array of eateries. Some of my top places we visited while in San Diego was “Sara’s Mexican Food” which had the best birria quesadillas, “Tahona” in Old Town which has a giant menu to explore, “Blue Palm” which had the most appetizing breakfast items, “Claytons Cafe” with the most delicious drinks and pastry items, and “Wolfies Carousel Bar” that had a never before seen spin-around bar. These restaurants should definitely be on the top of your list if you’re ever visiting San Diego. They all have such an exciting and enticing experiences and menus!

With all the views and stops to eat, my family and I somehow made time to hit many of the popular visitation sites in San Diego. We went to La Jolla and saw many sea lions, went through Sunny Jim’s Cave, lived out my European dream in Little Italy, strolled through Balboa Park, went on the USS Midway, explored the haunted Whaley House, visited the historical Coronado Island, and hiked through Torrey Pines. My family and I typically go on hiking family vacations rather than beach vacations, but San Diego has a great mix of both. Going to these different places really makes the trip so much more memorable because there is never a dull moment when you’re exploring such beautiful locations.

.・゜゜・The Vibes・゜゜・.
It hit me while my mom and I sat at Clayton’s Cafe for breakfast that this town and overall state has the best vibes in the US. a group of teenage girls sat down at a table next to us, and I couldn’t help but imagine my friends and I living their lives. Its easy to compare the state you live in to other states, especially when it comes to weather. However, i think it is important to remember that Minnesota also has its many beauties. But, the vibes that followed me throughout the town of San Diego will forever be unmatched.
