We have a very talented Senior class full of athletes at Sartell High School. Students find sports to be a great way to make connections and learn valuable life lessons.
Maggie Omann
Maggie Omann has been dancing since she was three years old and has loved dancing since. Maggie found a second family in her dance team throughout the years and will never forget the amazing connections and relationships she made along the way. Maggie’s bucket list goal for dance in her final Senior season is going to state and also placing at state. Going to state is one of the biggest highlights from Maggie’s past seasons. Being able to experience dancing on the Target Center floor in a full stadium was a surreal experience for Maggie. Also, the team bonding that happens at state reaches a different level with all of the nerves and excitement building up. All of the girls and their families enjoy a meal at Granite City together and celebrate in the hotel with all of the parents dressing up to match the costumes.
Lexi Mentzer
Lexi Mentzer started running track during her sophomore year in high school and has grown mentally and physically because of it. Lexi has made many friendships and memories through track, one of her favorites was when a couple of friends went over to Jay Weitgenants house. At Jay’s house, they spent the day on the river with his boat, played a lot of spike ball, and had dinner. Lexi’s goal for her upcoming senior season is to make it to state in the triple jump. She is most looking forward to improving her skills and to have fun with her friends.
Gabby Hagburg
Gabby Hagburg has been golfing since she was 6 years old. Her dad really enjoys going to the course and golfing with Gabby. Gabby’s favorite memories come from riding the bus. Whether it is joking around on the bus or stopping to get food Gabby has created great memories and friendships through golf. Gabby’s goal for her senior season is to break 100 more than once on 18 holes. Gabby is most looking forward to the overnight meeting. The location of this year is undecided, but she is excited to spend two days golfing.
Jalen Schumann
Jalen first started playing basketball when he was just three years old. Growing up, Jalen played all the time with his dad and they really bonded over it. Jalen’s favorite memory from playing basketball was his last years AAU season. He had a lot of fun with his friends Carter and Andrew on the same team and his dad was even one of the coaches. This made for a fun and hardworking season for Jalen. Jalen’s goal for his current basketball season is to win at least 10 games. Jalen is most looking forward to playoffs this season and seeing how far the team will make it.
Kalyn Jacobs
Kalyn started playing soccer when she was only four. She grew up next to Chloe Eibensteiner, who also started playing, so they would practice together. Kalyn’s favorite memory from soccer was when they won state in 2022 for the Sartell Travel Soccer Team. Kalyn’s goal for her season was to win conference champs. Unfortunately, they didn’t win, but she had a lot of fun and they played as hard as they could. Kalyn looked forward to the team dinner and sleepover the most. She had hosted the team at her house and had the best time with her friends and teammates.
