Joslynn Stewart has spent her entire life in the Sartell school district and eagerly awaits graduating with her friends in the spring. She’s enjoyed growing up in this community and is excited to take on the next chapter of her life.
Family plays a big role in Joslynn’s life, and she loves spending time with her mom (Katherine), dad (Josh), and her two younger brothers, Jackson (11th) and Rowan (8th). Some of her favorite memories are the evenings spent around the table playing games, especially card games like Rummy, where the family shares plenty of laughs and friendly competition. Joslynn also loves hanging out with her friends, especially when they get together to watch movies or just enjoy each other’s company.
Athletics have been a big part of Joslynn’s high school experience, and she is an active member of the SHS swim and dive team. Her swimming journey started in 5th grade with CMA, where she participated in just a few meets. Over the years, her passion for the sport grew, and she made her way onto the Sartell High School team in 9th grade. Although Joslynn isn’t sure if she’ll continue swimming competitively in college, she has made unforgettable memories. One of her favorite moments was competing at section finals, where the athletes must achieve a certain time to qualify for state. This year, she loved celebrating the team’s accomplishments and the rewarding trip to the state competition. In addition to competing, Joslynn helps teach community ed swim lessons at the middle school, and during the summer, she offers private lessons at the high schoolers. Over the past two years, she’s taught kids of all ages, from 3 to 13, and enjoys helping them develop their skills in the water.
Although Joslynn doesn’t have concrete college plans yet, she is considering Winona State University or Minnesota State University, Mankato, where she’s interested in studying either occupational therapy or sociology. What she’s most excited about in college is the opportunity to start a new chapter in her life—meeting new people, exploring new experiences, and continuing to grow beyond the familiar environment of high school.
