On December 10th, I drove down to the airport to catch a late night flight to Bozeman, Montana. As a senior in high school, I am currently faced with the stress of picking out a college. One of my dream schools is Montana State University and I knew I needed to see the campus to know if it could be the right place for me. With the busyness of this time of year, I only had about 24 hours that I could spend in the city of Bozeman.
Flight to Bozeman
While sitting and waiting to board the flight to Bozeman, I noticed a variety of people also flying out. There were some college aged girls awaiting a ski trip in Big Sky, an elderly couple returning to their home in Montana, a couple cowboy-hat-wearing men, and some construction workers flying out to a job site.
Breakfast in Bozeman
After a night of travel, my mom and I woke up very hungry. Before we had flown out, my mom had been looking for a good breakfast place in the area and found this restaurant called Jam! We walked from our hotel to the restaurant at around 7:30 a.m. Upon walking in, we were greeted by very nice staff. The menu was great and I had a hard time deciding what to order. I settled on a chai latte and a breakfast burrito. My mom ordered a latte and the
The breakfast was incredible! Both the chai and the latte had adorable latte art and tasted amazing. The burrito was very filling and it could’ve held me over until dinner. My mom’s breakfast came with toast and huckleberry jam, which was surprisingly delicious. I’m not the biggest fan of jam on toast, but I could get used to the huckleberry jam.
Montana State University
The full reason for me going to Bozeman for the day was to visit a college I was considering, Montana State University. The campus was beautiful! I immediately fell in love. Mountain scenery surrounded all sides of campus. As I walked around, I felt like I could definitely see myself going there. Overall, it was a very successful visit.
Lunch in Bozeman
Because I was in Montana, I knew I had to eat a Bison Burger. We went to Urban Kitchen located in downtown Bozeman. It was less than a 3-minute walk from our hotel which was great because I was starving! We started off with brussels sprouts with honey feta cheese. It was a recommendation from the waitress. They were absolutely amazing. I then ordered a bison burger and my mom got a salad. Both were delicious.
Walking Around Bozeman
After lunch, we had some time to kill before our dinner reservations. We decided to walk around downtown Bozeman, exploring the little shops.
We stopped in at a local favorite, Wild Joe*s Coffee Spot, for coffee before walking around. I ordered an iced brown sugar cinnamon latte and my mom ordered the Montana honey bee latte. Both were absolutely delicious.
There were many adorable boutiques in downtown Bozeman. We had a great time walking through each one. But, my absolute favorite boutique was Intrigue Ink. It is a boutique that sells clothing, wall art, stickers, jewelry, and more. All prints were made by two sisters who launched the brand back in 2016.
Construction in Bozeman
Bozeman, Montana was named the fastest-growing city in the United States by the US Census Bureau. Between 2010 and 2020, the population of Bozeman grew by 40.3%, making it the fastest-growing city in the country. This being said, many apartments and housing options are popping up all over the city. My mom works at J-Berd, a company that is quickly expanding, offering heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection services. They have been doing some work in Bozeman lately. We were able to walk through one of the apartments being worked on by J-Berd in downtown Bozeman.
Dinner in Bozeman
For dinner, we decided to book a reservation at Revelry. I absolutely loved the look of the inside of the restaurant. There were plants all over and a rustic wooden look. For a drink, I ordered a huckleberry lemonade. Huckleberry is a berry native to Montana. This was a delicious sweet and refreshing drink. For dinner, I ordered the Pasta alla Vodka. My mom got a classic margarita pizza. Both of the dishes were amazing! This restaurant was the perfect last stop during our day in Bozeman.
