On December 4th, Spotify launched its annual recap, giving users worldwide a personalized look at their streaming habits by showcasing them in an intriguing way.
What is Spotify Wrapped?
Since 2016, Spotify has had an annual feature that offers a personalized summary of your music listening habits from the past year. Spotify Wrapped provides users with the top songs, artists, genres, and podcasts they enjoyed the most that year. However, the feature most users like is seeing how long they have streamed. Spotify Wrapped is presented as a series of colorful slides that contain many exciting stats like global music trends and annual streaming minutes. For Spotify, it’s a big celebration of your loyalty to their app and an interesting way to engage the community. At the end of your Spotify Wrapped presentation, you are given a cumulative playlist of your top songs from that year so you can listen to them in the future.
Spotify Wrapped 2024
This year’s Spotify Wrapped top artist was Taylor Swift, with more than 26.6 billion global streams since the start of 2023. The top ten artists of the year following Taylor Swift were The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake, Billie Eilish, Travis Scott, Peso Pluma, Kanye West, Ariana Grande, and Feid.
For those of you who are impatient and would like to have a sneak peek at what could be on your future Spotify Wrapped, you can take a look at your Spotify Pie. It is similar to Spotify Wrapped, except it doesn’t show how long you’ve listened and has mediocre graphics. You can also have your music taste roasted. Yes, roasted! Just sign into your Spotify on volt.fm, click the Roast My Spotify button, and it will jokingly criticize your music taste. Another fun thing you can do with the music you’ve listened to is make your own Spotify Bedroom, which shows what your internet bedroom would look like based on the music you listen to.
Many Sartell students use Spotify as their primary music streaming platform. Let’s find out more about their 2024 Spotify Wrapped.
