The Sartell boys’ and girls’ track teams had a phenomenal 2024 season and deserve recognition for their performances.
Starting with Ella Kirchner, she is one out of three student-athletes who broke a school record in the spring of 2024. She ended her year with a season PR of 12.18 in the open 100-meter dash. She competed in the 4×100-meter relay with Cami Weber, Lexi Mentzer, and Maddie Francois. She broke the school record five different times and is currently #1 on the SHS record board for the 100-meter. Kirchner had the opportunity to attend the Hamline Elite track meet to compete against the top competitors in the state. She also competed in the AAA state finals track and field meet and finished 6th place.
Zoe Lain is the second student-athlete that broke a record. She consistently competed in the open 400-meter dash and the 4×4-meter relay. Lain is also a school record holder with an open 400 time 57.25. She broke this record three times throughout last year. Like Kirchner, she participated in the Hamline Elite meet and made it to the state finals, finishing 9th place. Lain competed in the open 200-meter dash once this year and ended up running a 26.18 making her #3 on the record board for that event.
Lastly, Baylor Stebbins is the third. He competed in the open 400, and 4×4 relay, as well as he once competed in the open 200. Stebbins is #1 on the record board with a PR of 49.62.
