Senior Spotlight: Laila Dodin

Sartell Senior Laila Dodin is our senior spotlight this week, and she is excited to finish off her senior year.

Laila’s Family

Laila Dodin, she is 17 years old who attends Sartell High School as a senior. She lives with her parents and two siblings, Salah and Emad. Her favorite childhood memory with her family is going to the Dead Sea, Jordan when she was 10. Their favorite holiday is Eid El Fiter. It’s a one of two major holidays celebrated by Muslims and commemorates the end of the holy month of Ramadan, in which Muslims fast daily from before dawn until sunset.

About Laila

Laila loves hanging out with her cousins, they are the most important relationship to Laila. She likes to go shopping with them as well. She loves watching soccer with her cousins and family and her favorite soccer team is Real Madrid. She speaks two different languages, Arabic her first language, and English.

Laila’s Plans After High School

Laila wants to attend her first four years of post secondary education at SCSU to be a special education teacher. Then she wants to go to The University Of Minnesota for her masters. She likes helping people. She also wants this career because her grandma did it first, and she looks up to her very much.

“I look up to my grandma because she helps others a lot and she is very kind. She is also a special ed teacher, and I have always wanted to be like her.”
