The Sartell Sabre Dance Team hosted their annual fundraiser showcase on November 16th, with show times at 11 am and 4 pm, located at Sartell High School.
The team had 5 performances for each show, consisting of B-squad jazz, JV jazz, Varsity jazz, JV kick, and Varsity kick. The 4 pm show also had a senior walk-through to highlight the 12 Sartell seniors. Many local high school teams and studios had performances as well, having in total around 35 dances per show.
Q&A with members of the team!

Q: What is your favorite competition to attend?
A: “CLC #1 is my favorite because we get to see everyone compete for the first time.” – SSDT sophomore, Paisley Anderson.
A: “State is my favorite because it is super fun to see us keep growing our bonds with each other, and it is fun to see us accomplish our goals that we have been working on the entire season.” – SSDT sophomore, Morgan Winters.
Q: What dance were you most nervous to premiere?
A: “Kick, because I was nervous to miss a kick or mess up.” – SSDT freshman, Elli Larcom
Q: Who is an upperclassman you look up to?
A: “Lola (12th grade) because of her positive attitude and her turn technique, and Ellie (12th grade) because of her quality of movement and the way she preserves herself as a person!” – SSDT freshman, Cadie Cone.
A: “I look up to a lot of the upperclassmen, but the ones who come to mind are Mia Larcom (11th grade), Lola Sens (12th grade), Maddie Winters (12th grade), Brinkley Zabel (12th grade), Riley Quinn (11th grade), and Ellie Arduser (12th grade).” – SSDT 8th grader, Liv Daku.

A: “Every comp day I get a bacon, egg, and cheddar bagel from Caribou, otherwise I will not do well in my opinion.” – SSDT junior, Jillian Lee.

A: “My sister, Morgan (10th grade), because her confidence has grown compared to last year, and Grace (8th grade), because being on varsity your rookie year is difficult, and she is doing a good job.” – SSDT senior, Maddie Winters.
