With the holiday season quickly approaching, stores are preparing for Black Friday, Christmas shopping, and etc. One of the ways stores are preparing is by ramping up the amount of employees at each store location. So if you are searching for a job, this is the perfect time for you!
Target and Bath and Body Works plan on hiring around 100,000 seasonal employees to ensure a smooth holiday season. This number is around the same as last year, unlike Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Blue Mercury stores. Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Blue Mercury stores plan to scale back their seasonal employee hirings this year. They all plan to hire around 31,500 workers this year instead of 38,000 like last year.
On the flip side, with online shopping being a very popular way to shop for the holidays, UPS plans to hire 125,000 seasonal employees. UPS is one of the big delivery companies and is hiring 10,000 more seasonal employees than last year. This is due to online shopping becoming a big way to shop for holidays. Online shopping is usually cheaper, offers better deals than in-store shopping, and more convenient as you can shop from the comfort of your own home and not have to deal with holiday traffic and busy stores!
If you are looking for a job to get some money to spend on gifts for others, or yourself over the holidays, make sure to keep in mind that lots of stores around us are looking for seasonal employees. Macy’s, Target, and Walmart are just a few of the many retail companies to apply at!
