Sartell High School senior, Lola Sens, and Sartell High School junior, Amelia “Mia” Larcom, are going on their tenth year of being best friends.
Lola and Mia first met by being in the same dance class when they were just seven and eight years old. Coincidentally, the two also went to the same elementary school, causing them to carpool with each other, along with Mias little sister, Elli. After just a short, few days of the new routine, Lola and Mia became inseparable.
Once the two got older, Lola and Mia both moved to Sartell. The girls unbreakable bond carried from elementary to middle school. For example, Lola and Mia still danced together at studio, and the two biked to each other’s houses everyday during the COVID-19 lockdown.
One concern that came to be was the fact that Lola was going into high school, and that Mia was staying at the middle school, but that didn’t stop them. Mia would come support Lola at dance team competitions, and the two would still meet up. They both knew that soon they would both be on dance team together, so one year apart wasn’t too difficult.
Now that Lola and Mia are on their 3rd season of being on the dance team together, they are spending every day together. Dance team created a whole new level of love for their friendship. Whether it’s sitting next to each other on the bus, giving pre-performance hugs, or just joking around at practice, dance team adds to their friendship everyday.
Over time, Lola and Mia have made many memories. Between getting ready for dance shows together, going on McDonald’s runs, and watching movies at each other’s houses, Lola and Mia have always been two peas in a pod.
Now that Lola is a senior this year, a huge change is coming. The two will soon be separated by Lola going away to college in the summer. Lola and Mia have never been this far away from each other, and they have never spent this much time away. The two are sad to separate, but excited to see what the future holds for their friendship.
