When Hailey Kunzia was younger, she attended Oak Ridge Elementary and has been in Sartell her whole life. Hailey’s family consists of her parents, Keven and Jodi, and her younger brother, Karson. She also has 25 pet fish.
When Hailey isn’t in school, she spends a lot of her time playing sports and going to practice after school in the fall and the spring. Hailey also manages the girl’s hockey team during the winter time. She enjoys going to all the sporting events at the school. Hailey spends a lot of time with her friends when she isn’t busy. Hailey also spends a lot of her time at her cabin on Eden Lake.

Hailey’s been in softball for eight years. During her time playing softball, there have been ups and downs but her best season that she played in was her sophomore year. Hailey grew the most as a player and a person as well as her skills developed the most that year. She has had multiple opportunities since then to develop her skills on and off the field. Hailey also had a really good time this past summer playing for St.Cloud Hype. Hailey enjoyed getting to meet new people and was pushed as a player. The environment that Hype provided was amazing for Hailey and it was able to show her how much she has grown.

One of Hailey’s favorite memories from softball has to be when her and her team won the Legion State tournament in Bemidji this summer. It was a fantastic way to end the summer season and very rewarding. The whole team worked really hard for it, and it was a really fun weekend and experience.

Hailey has also joined tennis in the past year. Hailey’s favorite thing about tennis is the environment it provides. She was new on the first day and immediately felt welcome by the team. Hailey looked forward to going to practice everyday, and it had such a positive impact on her. Hailey never felt judged, and she felt as the coaches and the team gave so much support to her and everyone else.
In tennis there are also going to be hard matches. Hailey’s hardest match was against Detroit Lakes. When Hailey and her teammate Emma went into a tie breaker, the match lasted over two hours. It was very exhausting.
After high school, Hailey plans to attend college to get her nursing degree, and she hopes to become an IR nurse in the future.
