Album review: ‘Fathers and Sons’ by Luke Combs

Luke Combs is an amazing artist and everyone should listen to his songs if they have not heard him before. All of his songs are amazing but this album is next level for Luke Combs. Luke Combs released the album ‘Fathers and Sons’ on June 14, 2024. The meaningful songs touched everyone’s hearts.

Luke Combs wrote this album about being a dad and his experience with his dad growing up and it is very bittersweet to listen to how he grew up and how he is doing things different than how he grew up. All if his songs have very different experiences and how he feels about his boys growing up.

Front Door Famous – Luke Combs wrote this song since he is always on the road and not home that often, the feeling of coming home and feeling so loved seeing his boys love him and feeling famous when he walks through the door. Fallyn would rate this a 8/10.

In case I Ain’t Around – This song is about all the life lessons Luke wants his kids to know when he isn’t around anymore, he wants them to know that he won’t be here forever and when he is gone that they know he is still with him and they have all the life lessons he wants them to have. Fallyn would rate this a 8/10.

Huntin’ By Yourself – Luke Combs is making sure he is soaking up all the moments and hunting with kids before it is too late and he will be hunting by himself again and even though kids can’t sit still and probably scare all the deer away it is still a very meaningful one on one time with his kids that they will remember but so will Luke. Fallyn would rate this 10/10.

Little Country Boys – In this song Luke Combs is coming to realization that no matter what he can’t change the fact his little boys will always be his little country boys and no one can take that away from him or his boys. Fallyn loves this song but not her favorite so she gives it a 10/10.

Whoever You Turn Out to Be – This song is Fallyn’s personal favorite, Luke Combs is talking about how much he loves his kids and no matter what they choose to do with their life if they wanna move away or not like some things they used to. Luke Combs says he is going to love and support them no matter what path they choose to take in life. This song is Fallyn’s favorite because of how meaningful and soothing, Fallyn rates this song a 20/10.

Remember Him That Way – Luke Combs uses this chance to write about his dad and remembering him when he was a little boy playing catch with him and now watching him grow old and growing into a grandfather for his kids. This song came out earlier than the rest of the album and is it just so good and has some slow and fast to it. Fallyn would rate this song 10/10.

The Man He Sees in Me – Luke Combs wrote this song so his boy would always see him as the amazing dad he is and the hero his boys see him as when they are little. He wants to them to see him as this hero forever. At the beginning of the song he talks about his dad and kinda the man he sees in him now. This song is so beautiful and touching. Fallyn would rate this a 9/10.

All I Ever Do Is Leave – In this song Luke Combs writes about how he feels bad that he is always leaving on tour and never at home with his kids and missing all their accomplishments. This song also correlates with Luke Combs’s dad when he was younger and how he would always leave and he never wanted that for his kids but he has no choice. This song really makes you feel bad and Fallyn feels grateful her dad is around but he is also gone alot so when he is home Fallyn feels grateful. Fallyn would rate this song a 8/10.

Plant a Seed – Luke Combs emphasizes in this song that time slips away from you when you don’t even know it and time is a criminal. Being able to Plant a Seed and watch it grow is his way of stoping time and watching that seed grow because sometimes we don’t even realizes that all your time is gone when it is and being able to stop and watch how beautiful the world is it makes life 10x better. Fallyn would rate this song a 9/10.

Ride Around Heaven – In the beginning of this song Luke Combs writes that he drifts off and dreams of his grandfather and he thinks it’s reality but it’s not and he wishes he could be with his grandfather all the time and ride around with him but since it wasn’t reality he know his grandfather is only a prayer away. This song really makes you miss the loved ones that aren’t on earth anymore and wish they were. Fallyn would rate this song a 9/10.

My Old Man Was Right – This song is from the father and sons and wishing that your old man wasn’t right but knowing he always is and being young it can be annoying but somethings you don’t realize till you are grown or your dad isn’t here on earth anymore. This song really makes you relate no matter who you are and know your elders are always right. Fallyn would rate this song a 8/10.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame – When Luke Combs was younger his parents split and all he wanted was to be family again and go to a baseball game with all 3 of them and not just one parents. Luke Combs had a hard childhood and tried to get his parents back together. Fallyn can relate because her parents are still together but she has friends that have divorced parents and she sees them struggle. Fallyn would rate this song a 9/10.

Sailor – Its a very a good album, I have been listening to Luke combs since he started country and have seen him live, this cd has hit differently because now i have a son and now reflect back to my father

Brinkley Zable- I LOVE it

Isabelle Benninghoff – It’s a very great album, has listened to luke combs for a while and Fallyn brought me with to a concert and changed my life.

Kaylee Rademacher – I think it is a beautiful touching album that really puts together a father and son bond.

Saue – Its not my favorite album of his but it is very emotional, I do like him a lot but i listen to more up beat so not really my vibe but i do like it, and its not the best album but the quality and sentimental part is very good.

Cade Budde- It’s very relatable and I enjoy listening to it.
