Maggie Smith, most famously known as Professor Mcgonagall from the Harry Potter movie series, has passed away on Friday September 27th.
Smith had a very success filled life, winning an Oscar, Emmy, and Tony award. These were awarded to her for her brilliant performances in the “Harry Potter series”, “Downton Abbey”, and “The prime of miss Jean Brodie”. She was known as a very sharp, likable and intelligent woman and could win you over with ease. Smith impacted many people and was a great person to work with After hearing about her passing, many of her co-stars and co-workers were very upset to have lost such a great actor and friend.
Although no cause of death was given, before her passing, Smith started to open up about becoming diagnosed with “Graves disease” Graves disease is a disease that affects the immune system, it affects it in a way that causes the body to produce too much Thyroid Hormone. This hormone affects many organs in the body, it can affect your breathing, weight, and a multitude of other things that a the body needs to function properly. It can cause you to be sensitive to heat, always being tired, having discoloration in the skin, and many other influences on the body.
