Last summer, June 2023, I decided it was about time for me to get my first job. I was originally referred to Buckle by people I had known outside of the business. When I was first considering the position, I honestly only applied because I knew the employees in my everyday life. Eventually, I finally decided to go in and apply for the position. I went in for an interview about a week later and was hired.

I began my first day roughly a week after I was hired. On my first day on the job, I was immediately working on gathering all the knowledge I needed to be successful. I was very lucky to be led by some of the best people our company has ever had. I received the opportunity to get personalized training every step of the way from the amazing people leading our store.

As days and weeks went on I became closer with my teammates. One girl stood out to me more than the rest. I had known her slightly from outside of work. We had mutual friends so we happened to meet, and be around each other a few times before I was hired.

She really stood out to me as a human when I went through one of the hardest barriers of my life. She was the person who went above and beyond to show her kindness and care to me. Her insight and outlook on life were such a healing attribute to my process. I couldn’t be more grateful for the support I had from her during some of the hardest times of my life.

Time goes on, and I continue to fall in love with the job, and the people I get to work with. Not only does this pertain to my coworkers, but also to all the amazing people I have met through the job. I work as a personal stylist, so building a connection with each one of my guests is very important to me. By getting to know my guests personally, both the experience I have and what they have, shopping is more enjoyable and overall fun.

I am so grateful to have the privilege to work with the amazing humans I did. I got to meet my best friend through this job, and so many people who mean the world to me. I want to thank Jen for running a beautiful business with so much love and passion put into it. I would like to thank Maren and Skippy for individually working with each teammate, including myself to help us reach our full potential. Thank you to Vivian for being my rock and a kind soul to every human that comes through this team. Thank you to Sarah, Samandi, Mariah, Cass, and Tiff for being some of the most uplifting and supportive women in my life. Thank you to Jackson, Connor, Isabel, and Tony, for making me laugh till my stomach hurts, and for the energy you personally bring to the team.
