Sports are a great way to build strength, create friendships, entertain yourselves and so much more. At Sartell High School, fall sports keep many students busy. There are loads of different sports that Sartell offers to students.
Girls’ tennis is one of the many fall sports. The girls’ tennis team is having a great season so far. They have gotten victories against Detroit Lakes, Rocori and Willmar. The girls tennis team shows incredible team bonding by taking a trip to Camp Ripley army course. Coach Crandall says that the work ethic of the girls and facing challenges with a positive attitude has been a highlight she has seen.
Girls’ soccer shows great strength and determination. On September 10th, they had an incredible win of 9-0 against Willmar. On the 9th, they had another 9-0 against Detroit Lakes. They are having a great season so far. Caption Kalyn Jacobs says that their team sleepover built incredible bonds and friendships.
Football is a highlight for many Sabres to go out and watch on Friday nights. On the 7th this month, they had a close game against Sauk Rapids Storm and lost 18-24. The support from students shows in the giant student sections. Assistant Coach Noel Meyer says the team has improved well in the last two weeks with execution and working well as a team.
Girls’ swim and dive is diving into an amazing season. They had a great win against Fergus Falls; JV won 93-79 and varsity 102-82. Caption Maya Hentges says that she has loved getting to know all the new teammates and setting up a strong team environment so far this year.
Cross Country at Sartell High School consists of lots of strong students. The races they have had this year have gone very well. They almost had a clean sweep against Apollo and several other teams. Coach Henning says that he is proud of the sportsmanship and how well the team cheers on others.
Boys’ soccer has been showing hard work and strength. The boys’ soccer team had great victories against Fergus Falls, Rocori, Detriot Lakes and Willmar in just the beginning of their season with more victories to come. Coach Matt Hager says that the guys really get along with each other and believe in each other which they feel is important in success. He also adds they have been working hard and learning what it takes to be successful.
Girls’ volleyball works hard on the court. They have gotten victories against Tech and Brainerd so far in their season. The Sabres have more games to come and hope to carry more victories. Head coach Riley Marod has a lot of positive things to say about the team. She says the team has been working hard on confidence, communication, and consistency. She also adds how they have continued to grow and get better with each game and learning new roles to better the whole team.
