Andrew Tavale, SHS senior, and captain of the football team is a Sartell star this year. He enjoys hanging out with his friends and family in his free time. He is the youngest of four with three older sisters and has been playing football for nearly 12 years.
Andrew is seen around the school as a very outgoing and funny person. He is typically viewed as the class clown due to his contagious laugh; he truly makes a room light up with joy.

What sport do you play and why did you choose this particular sport?
“I play football and my dad introduced the sport to me at a young age and has always pushed me to keep trying even when things get hard.”

Do you enjoy being a captain of the Sartell football team?
“Yes. I enjoy leading the team and being someone that others can look up to.”
What is the most memorable memory of your high school football career and why?
“My most memorable football moment was beating Sauk Rapids in the section semi-final playoffs; it was memorable ’cause they were our rivals.”
»On October 29th, 2022 Sartell took down Sauk Rapids in the 8AAAAA Semi-Fianls. In the first quarter of the game, there were no touchdowns from either team. In the second quarter, 2 touchdowns were made by Sauk from K. Patterson with a 1-yard gain, and an extra point by L. Rudnick. Continuing in the 2nd quarter Sartell got a touchdown from C. Hentges to A. Tavale for a 22-yard gain, extra point. Following into the 3rd quarter with no touchdowns from either team. In the 4th quarter, Sartell came through and scored a touchdown from C. Hentges to P. Knutson for a 48-yard gain and a two-point conversion pass from C. Hentges to D. Larson. Leaving Sartell with a victory.«
Do you have any plans for after high school? If so what?
“The plan is to play college football after school, but I am undecided on where I would like to go.”
