A senior trip to Isla Mujeres, located near Cancún Mexico!

Isla Mujeres is one of the most perfect spots to snorkel while near Cancún, Mexico!

A group of 33 people including 7 seniors and their families, traveled to Cancún! We stayed at a resort called the Riu Dunamar. We had a full travel day on the first day, our flight was at 6:30am so we had to be to the airport by 3:30! Let me tell you, that was too early. We arrived in Cancún at about 12pm, then took a crazy van ride to our resort an hour away. I took all of the pictures below!

The next few days we hung out around the pools, and beach. We ate a lot of food, tried a lot of fun drinks, and went to the night entertainment. All 33 of us ate dinner together every night, and all dressed up in our nice clothes.

On Sunday we had our excursion day! On our boat ride to the island we took a pit stop to do some snorkeling. Snorkeling was one of the coolest things I have ever experienced. While in the water there were so many colorful schools of fish and even starfish!

We snorkeled for a good 45 minutes, and after we made our way to the island for some lunch! The lunch was buffet style and was actually so good. After lunch our group split up to explore the island, some walked and others rode golf carts!

What was your favorite part of the day?

Mya Torborg – “Exploring the island, and my golf cart that stopped working was pretty funny!”

Sofi Torborg – “Seeing all them fishies while snorkeling!”

Allison Kempenich – “Mexican Yacht Club!”

Jayda Kral – “I loved being on the boat while dancing and singing!”

Kelly Noetzel – “Captain Grace, she made the day so fun!”

Avalon Heckman – “Mya’s golf cart breaking down!”

After being on the island for 4 hours we got back on the boat! During the ride back we watched the sunset, which was so pretty. The ride back was so peaceful, everyone was super tired from our long day.

The rest of the days we just hung out at our resort, swimming, eating the best food, and some really fun night life.

Our last night at the resort was a Riu neon party; with a super fun show, face painting, bubbles, balloons, and a dance party! It was the best way to end our amazing trip!!

This trip has taught me that taking a week off to just relax and not be stressed out is needed! Being with so many people that I love and care about so much made it 10x more fun to just hangout and be in the hot Mexico sun!
