The next highlighted senior will be George Larson.
George values spending time with his family and staying active. He has two older brothers that have continued their schooling at St. John’s and St. Thomas. George also has a twin sister who is younger than him by two minutes. He enjoys living on the river and spending time outside. George has brought the same cold lunch to school for the past three years. That meal consists of chicken, rice, and Rico’s nacho cheese sauce.
George is very involved within the district throughout various sports, clubs, and activities. He was on the varsity Sartell swim and dive team for six years (7th – 12th grade). In his younger years, his main events were the 200 IM and the 500 freestyle. He had a big change as he got older and changed his main events to the 50 and 100 free.
George has also been involved in track and field for four years of high school. His events are pole vault and the 4×4.
George is also involved in clubs including NHS, disc golf club, big in big brothers and sisters and he swam for Central MN Aquatics.
He enjoys exploring and has been on multiple incredible adventures. In the summer of 2022, George spent eight days in Italy and Greece on a school trip. He was able to be with some friends, his twin sister, and his mom on this trip. His favorite part of that trip was visiting the Vatican.
The next summer, he spent a month in the Canadian wilderness through the program Les Voyagers. He enjoyed swimming in rapids, cliff-jumping, making new friends and being unplugged from his cell phone.
George is excited for the future and is planning on majoring in biology. He is planning on going into the medical field. His top school choice is the University of Alabama.
